CANNABIS LEGALIZED IN CANADA
Cannabis became legal in Canada on October 17, 2018, following the passage of the Cannabis Act. With the enactment of this legislation, Canada became the second country, after Uruguay, to formally legalize the cultivation, possession, acquisition, and consumption of cannabis and its by-products. This historic move allowed for legal and regulated access to cannabis for medical and non-medical purposes, making Canada a pioneer in providing such access among major industrialized nations.
